Hello! I’m Karen Blakeney, a fine artist living in Greensboro, GA with a background in graphic design. After 25 years in the graphic design industry, I traded my computer in for the freedom and joy of painting, and I’ve never looked back. My creative journey is deeply rooted in my love for color, texture, and the incredible process of bringing a blank canvas to life. I enjoy working with various mediums, but I find myself most at home with oils, acrylics, and pastels.

As a former graphic designer, I bring a unique perspective to my art. The skills I honed during my design career—such as composition, color theory, and an eye for detail—translate seamlessly into my painting practice. Each time I step in front of a canvas, I dive into a world of exploration, where the possibilities are endless. As I continue to grow and experiment in my artistic practice, I’m excited about the future and the new paths my work will take.
