Interested in selling your art at MAGallery? From time-to-time, we have available space and are looking for new artists. Our gallery artists are vital to the operation of the gallery and are involved in addition to selling their art.

HOW IT WORKS: SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES OF BEING IN THE MAGALLERY COOPERATIVE

MAGallery is a cooperative artists gallery operated by Madison Artists Guild, Inc. (MAG). MAG is a 501(c)3 nonprofit dedicated to education and encouragement of artistic endeavor in its members and the community through outreach programs, classes and workshops, social gatherings, and support of local artists through MAGallery.

  • To support the cooperative, Gallery Artists agree to work one full day per month at MAGallery running the sales desk, opening and closing the gallery, greeting visitors and providing an overview to the gallery. The gallery is open from 11AM - 5PM Monday - Saturday.
  • To support the cooperative, Gallery Artists agree to serve on at least one committee. Some committees require being at MAGallery to fulfill the committee work, but some committees meet virtually or allow remote working.
  • All artwork must be the original work of the artist, personally made by them either by hand or using tools or machines, and not in violation of copyright infringement.
  • Artist rent is $30/month for a 4' x 8' wall grid (2D artists) or comparable floor space for 3D artists
  • Gallery Artists earn 70% commission on gross sales and agree to pay MAGallery 30%.
  • Gallery Artists are required to maintain a current membership in MAG. Memberships start at $35.
  • The decision of accepting an artist rests with the MAGallery Curating Committee and in accordance with its established procedures.
  • If juried in, Gallery Artists are asked to sign a contract valid for one year. Gallery Artists will be invited to renew their contract and membership at the end of a calendar year for the following year. This contract can be terminated by either party with one month's notice.
  • All work is offered on consignment to MAG. MAG is not responsible for lost, stolen or damaged artwork. The gallery does utilize a monitored security system with four cameras and a fire detection system.
