Dottie Kurtz

Dottie grew up in Atlanta in an area when there were still heavily wooded forests, gravel roads and one could easilywalk to the nearby Chattahoochee River. As the daughter of art enthusiasts she was fortunate to be introduced to the beauty of art at an early age.

In 2000 Dottie started to collect yard sale/thrift store discards to create her one-of-a-kind works. She uses recycled/repurposed glassware, photo frames, discontinued fabric samples and scraps, wool sweaters with moth holes, pottery/porcelain shards, and vintage jewelry in her colorful work. Even her hand painted notcards use papers that are recycled retail gift bags. What inspires Dottie? COLOR! What does she like best? Mixing materials and combining colors in non-traditional and unconventional ways. After spending forty years in the real estate business as both a Principal Broker and Associate Broker Dottie retired to Madison, GA and still loves living in a forest, on a gravel road.
