Bonnie Montgomery

Bonnie began her weaving career in 1981 when she graduated from the University of Georgia with a master's degree in textile crafts. Bonnie has woven over 1,150 rugs over her career, many of which are on display at UGA and in public spaces around Oconee County. Her work is functional, can be washed and dried at home, and will last for years—even rugs used on the floor. Every rug is one of a kind as are her place mats, coasters, trivets and versatile rag-rug bags. Bonnie also makes baskets, experimenting with unusual materials like wire, yarns and pine needles. Bonnie lives in Watkinsville, GA.
